How much exercise is the right amount?
Daily exercise is best for your dog!
A minimum of 30 minutes is ideal for many dogs. Larger, stronger, and younger dogs tend to need more than 30 minutes a day, and certain breeds also require more.
To determine your dogs' exercise needs, you might ask your vet or consider this professional advice found online. Also, we offer this additional guidance to help you determine if your dog's breed is considered by professionals to have a high need for exercise.

Flexibility
Tails & Trails offers clients great flexibility in scheduling dog exercise sessions. While all of our exercise packages have a 30 day or 60 day time-limited use window, sessions can be scheduled with the frequency and routine that works best for you within that time frame.
Setting Up the Session
Tails & Trails exercise sessions are scheduled prior to the day of service, and at the very latest, on the morning of service.
Exercise sessions are not scheduled for specific times of the day, but for windows of time (morning, afternoon or evening), to protect the safety and reliability of the Tails & Trails caregiver. If your dogs have special needs, please mention this to your caregiver so that we may try to accommodate.
If you have made arrangements for your dogs’ accessibility with your Tails & Trails caregiver (e.g. door key, garage code, etc.), you do not need to be present for service fulfillment.
Initial scheduling may take place by e-mail, phone (952-920-1633), or in person (during a visit). Subsequent scheduling may be made directly with your dedicated Tails & Trails caregiver.
Lastly…
If you prefer, you will receive a phone call, e-mail or account notation following service delivery so you will know all the interesting details of your dogs' adventure.
First time clients are asked to complete an information form provided at first visit that will help Tails & Trails to know your dog and family. The completed document can be returned at a subsequent visit.
We encourage you to walk your dogs every day, but when you’re not able or available to, we hope you will rely on us!
